Selfridges Oxford Street Windows: Womens Designer Galleries

Faithful Reader - as promised, here are the finished Oxford Street Windows - celebrating the launch of Selfridges new Womens Designer Galleries. Without doubt, this was one of the most technically ambitious installations I've ever been involved with, combining projections, lighting, movement and drapery on a massive scale - not too mention getting four tons of gravel into the windows.

Working from a menagerie of references including fashion filmography, the marble mines of Carrara, recent exhibitions at the Tate and Hayward galleries as well as the clothes themselves, each window space is dedicated to showcasing the pieces of an individual label - and what seriously amazing labels they are:

Ann Demeulemeester:
Celine:
Junya Watanabe:

Comme Des Garcons (1)
Balenciaga:
Alexander McQueen:
A. F. Vandervorst:
Comme Des Garcons (2)
Dries Van Noten:
Gareth Pugh:
Givenchy:
Lanvin:
Maison Martin Margiela:
Rick Owens:
These windows were photographed during the daytime - however, you should almost certainly check them out in the dark - thats when they really come alive....

Check back later in the week for a comprehensive 'Making Of' for both the Oxford and Duke windows.
