MAKING HEAD PIECES FOR J MASKREY VIDEO PRESENTATION Whilst I worked with Piers over the summer on his Spring Summer 2010/11 collection, the first assignment he actually gave me was to create headpieces [under his guidance] for fashion designer J Maskrey. J Maskrey is all about sparkle, sequins and shine. The headpieces were to be of this exact specification also. I constructed two large, red, diamante encrusted flowers and one diamante encrusted peacock for use in J's video presentation (she is not showing her full collection until Shanghai fashion week, where hopefully the headpieces will also be used!) The video was premiered to audiences at LFW on Sunday - it was styled by the legendary Judy Blame. The process of creating these flowers was particularly fiddly, but I was amazed that I actually managed to turn something flat and 2D into something solid, chunky and a-mazing. Piers assembled them once they were finished, ready for use in the video. Here is flower number 2 under construction: And this is the delightful Megan showing off the finished peacock tiara:
