DREAM - AN UPDATE THROUGH TO THE END.

SO, ON MONDAY 11TH, WE HAD THE GET IN WHICH INVOLVED THE CREATION OF THE PIT. THE NEXT DAY, TUESDAY THE 12TH, I SPENT THE ENTIRE DAY PAINTING THE INSIDE OF THE PIT, AND LAYING A HARDBOARD FLOOR WITH SCRAP BITS OF HARDBOARD FROM THE WORKSHOP. TAPING OVER THE JOINS WITH GAFFER, I THEN CARRIED ON PAINTING ON TOP OF THAT. THIS WAS LABORIOUS AND KNACKERING AND I WAS ON MY OWN IN THIS PIT FOR A LONG TIME, AND HAVE PROBABLY BEEN DRIVEN SLIGHTLY MAD. ANYWAY, IT LOOKED LOVELY AFTER IT WAS ALL PAINTED. IN THE PICTURE BELOW, YOU CAN SEE THE PAINTING IN PROGRESS ON THE FLOOR. TO THE RIGHT, A BLACK CURTAIN WAS HUNG (THANK YOU LIBBY) TO OBSCURE THE BEAMS AND THE REMAING SPACE INSIDE THE PIT. TO THE TOP OF THE PICTURE, THE GAUZE WAS LATER PLACED (THANK YOU BLONDIE).FINISHED CURTAINING, GAUZE AND FLOORING WITH LIGHTING. AND SO, ONWARDS AND UPWARDS. COME WEDNESDAY THE 13TH, WE HAVE THE TECH REHEARSAL WHICH IS BASICALLY ABOUT WORKING OUT HOW TO DO THE LIGHTS, THE COSTUME CHANGES (THIS WAS THE MADDEST COSTUME CHANGE. EVER). AND AND CHECKING SOUND. I WAS FRANTICALLY FINISHING THE COSTUMES FOR THEIR DEBUT IN THE SPACE. AS IT WAS BLOODY FREEZING IN THE PIT, WE AGREED TO LET THE SINGERS WEAR THERMALS AND COATS ON TOP OF THE LEOTARDS, HENCE THESE RATHER STRANGE REHEARSAL SNAPS:ABOVE: REHEARSING THE FINAL MOMENTS OF SCENE 4. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE GAUZE IN THESE PICTURES. THE PERFORMERS WERE REALLY PATIENT AND DIDN'T COMPLAIN ONCE ABOUT HAVING TO LAY ON THE FLOOR FOR AN HOUR AS WE LIT AND REHEARSED.
