THE HOMELAND [TREE]

SURREY, IT WOULD SEEM, HAS TURNED POSITIVELY ARCTIC SINCE THE LAST TIME I WAS HERE THREE MONTHS AGO. IT TOOK ME 5 HOURS, YES 5 HOURS, TO GET HOME FROM WATERLOO TO WOKING. IT WAS NOT PRETY. MY SEWING MACHINE HAS PACKED UP SO MY COSTUMES AND DISSERTATION HAVE GOT TO BE FINISHED AT HOME, HOPEFULLY SOMETIME TOMORROW. TODAY I VISITED THE TREE. IT WAS BLOODY FREEZING. ITS COMPLETELY NAKED AT THE MOMENT. MY FINGERS FELT LIKE THEY WERE GOING TO DROP OFF. IT FELT VERY STRANGE TO BE STOOD IN A SNOW COVERED FEILD BACK IN SURREY HAVING BEEN LOCKED AWAY IN LONDON BEING VERY HERMIT LIKE FOR THE LAST THREE MONTHS.
